Summit 2018…the connection of passion and knowledge

We’ve been busy!

Planning for Summit 2018, which is short-hand for Knowledge Sharing Summit & Marketplace, is well underway. Linda Hayes is our volunteer Summit 2018 chair, and she is ably assisted by some 25 diligent, talented, and imaginative people who are working to brainstorm and develop ideas into the best conference experience ever.

Whether it’s mastering the welcome or brilliantly managing room revenue, we want to provide each attendee with brain-food from savvy business people. There will be plenty of time for conversations with old and new friends, and brand new companies along with industry stalwarts will share products and services that are newfangled, trendsetting, and cutting edge. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

Got ideas? Please share them! Our path chairs are open to all of your ideas, so please contact one or more of them. Here are their names and email addresses:

We are thrilled that StayVA is our co-host for Summit 2018. We think you’ll “Love” the welcome that will greet each of you upon arrival.

There is lots more information coming in the next few weeks and months. Registration is currently scheduled to open August 31 with a terrific 4-day early bird rate. We’ll keep you posted! In the interim, please contact Kathryn White, Education and Events Director, with questions or comments. Her email address is kathryn@independent-innkeeping.org.

Meet Me at The Main

We are excited to hold AIHP's 2018 Knowledge Sharing Summit & Marketplace at the Norfolk Hilton The Main, downtown Norfolk's newest upscale hotel, dining, and meeting destination. On the corner of Main and Granby Streets, the Main is sure to be the "main" attraction along Norfolk's revitalized waterfront, complete with eclectic eateries, gastropubs and scenic riverside trail. Hotel booking information is now available HERE!

Norfolk is a clean, fun, dynamic town rich with wonderful restaurants, activities, and culture (arts, history).  It was voted one of America's favorite cities in the 2016 Travel+Leisure America's Favorite Places.

My first summit. Found it extremely beneficial. Perhaps a bit overwhelming because there were so many sessions that I would have loved to have attended...just not enough time.Wendy Bade, Hawk Valley Retreat
