B&Bs for Vets is Celebrating a Decade of Donations!

For the tenth year in a row, hundreds of inns and B&Bs will honor active and retired veterans over Veteran's Day with free stays in the U.S and Canada.  The B&Bs for Vets program started in 2008 when Kathleen Panek, co-owner of the Gillum House B&B and a handful of other innkeepers in West Virginia opened their doors to veterans and their spouses in honor of Veteran's Day, and we estimate that more than $2 million in free stays have been offered to veterans through this program to date.  In the largest known effort within the lodging industry to honor active military and veterans, AIHP is hoping to recruit 1000 innkeepers in the United States and Canada to open their doors with complimentary stays as a "thank you" to those who are presently serving or served in the past to protect our nation.  All we ask if that you offer one room for a deserving vet.  If you wish to offer more rooms or extend the days for free rooms for vets, we applaud your effort.

This year Veteran's Day falls on a Saturday, but we believe the holiday will be recognized among those actively serving with a day off on Friday, November 10, 2017.  We are encouraging innkeepers to thank a veteran with a free stay at your inn/B&B on November 9, 10 and/or 11, 2017.  If those dates won't work for you, feel free to offer other dates for free stays for vets.  We'll still promote your offer under the B&Bs for Vets campaign.

We hope that even if all your rooms are already filled for 2017, you'll still sign up to participate and therefore be counted in the hundreds of inns and B&Bs dedicated to this cause and listed on www.BandBsforVets.org.  Please help us meet our goal of 1000 participating inns.

Please send a quick email with your intention to participate in B&Bs for Vets, along with your contact information, the date you intend to offer free rooms and the number of free rooms you'll be offering to [email protected].  Someone from the B&Bs for Vets committee will contact you as we get closer to this event to get you signed on to the official BandBsforVets.org website. Thanks in advance for helping us to celebrate ten years of honoring our Vets.
